Kathy Ramsdell Hidden Waters Preserve We will meet at the park's kiosk at 2:00 pm.  Please make sure you are prepared with sunscreen, bug spray, closed-toe walking shoes, water etc.

This park contains the Eichelberger Sink which is an enormous sinkhole dropping 105 feet containing Lake Alfred.  We will be hiking down into the sinkhole, to the lake.

Directions from my hiking book: Take 441 N towards Mt. Dora/Eustis.  Just south of Eustis, turn N (right) on Donnelly Road (CR 44B).  Take the first left, Waycross Road.  Follow it until it ends; turn right on Country Club Road.  Watch for the grassy parking lot and trail kiosk on the right.

If I remember correctly, it is a little after a fairly sharp right turn and the park just looks like a field.  There may be a wood rail fence around it but I'm not sure - it's been awhile!

Blueberry Pick'n

Marks U Pic Blueberries

When I called, the recording mentioned that there are not as many blueberries this year and they are closing the fields early, sometimes by 8:30.  I suggest we go early, maybe be there by 8:00 when they open.

Also, please call their number Friday night to make sure that the field is open.

From the intersection of highway 50 and highway 27 in Clermont, go north 4.6 miles on highway 27.  Turn east on 561 N  (Astatula Road).  Go 700 feet to sign on south side of road.  They have 2 fields – you will have to follow the signs to see which field they are picking.

Orlando Museum
"It's Clear to Me" Art Class

The Orlando Museum offers a superb art enrichment program, that from personal experience, is unsurpassed. Please join Isaac, and I as we participate. "This exhibition features an installation by a major glass artist, whose work incorporates Florida history and ecology. Students would explore his installation to understand his themes, and then paint on glass to create an original work of art." The cost for the program is $17.00 per student, however, chaperons are free. You must pre-register to secure a space in the class, and no refunds will be made 2 weeks prior to the class. Sadly, this exceptional class is only available to elementary and Middle school students, so I suggest that those of us with High School students coordinate transportation, this would eliminate the need for all us to drive, and consequently we won't be obligated to leave all of our High Schoolers unsupervised. I hope to have the pleasure of your company! Nina
